This week, we welcome back a favorite organization as the Glade Run Lake Conservancy joins us to talk about the upcoming Nature Series. Lisa Busa, Board of Director member, is our guest and the organizer of the 1st ever Nature Series.
We start off the episode learning about Glade Run Lake Conservancy and their dedication to: preservation, restoration and improvement of Glade Run Lake in Middlesex Township.
We then switch gears to learn about this exciting Nature Series:
The Glade Run Lake Conservancy (GRLC) is excited to announce their 2022 Nature Series at Glade Run Lake! Generously sponsored by Armstrong's Antlers and Anglers program, this monthly educational series will be offered free to the public. Registered is not required to attend.
Join us once a month as we learn more about the plants and animals that inhabit Glade Run Lake. These family-friendly programs will begin in May and run through October. They will be interactive and include a variety of topics to interest all ages. All events will be hosted at Glade Run Lake located on Lake Road in Valencia, PA.
The dates and times for each month's program are as follows:
Wednesday, May 11th at 6:00pm - PA Black Bears
Friday, June 3rd at 7:00pm - Leap into Herpetology
Saturday, July 9th at 10:30am - All About Insects
Thursday, August 18th at 7:00pm - Bird Walk & Talk
Thursday, September 8th at 5:30pm - Tree ID Walk & Talk
Saturday, October 22nd at 5:30pm - Things that Go Bump In the Night

We also take time to learn more about the 2nd Annual Youth Fishing Derby on April 30th:
Join us for the GRLC's 2nd Annual Youth Fishing Derby at Glade Run Lake!
There will be two categories: 7 & under and 8-12 years old. Prizes will be available in both age categories for grand slam (largest trout, bass and sunfish combo), overall largest sunfish, and largest stringer of five sunfish.
The event will run through the FishDonkey app. Fish caught will be photographed, measured, and released back into the lake. Download the FishDonkey app and search "GRLC Youth Fishing Derby" to register for $10. All funds raised will help the GRLC continue our conservation efforts at the lake and its adjacent lands.
Participants are welcome to come and go as they please from dawn to dusk with Burritos by Brett serving up his delicious food. All PA Fish and Boat Commission regulations apply to this event.
